The CT VS. RHODE ISLAND ALL STAR FOOTBALL game committees along with the cheerleading committee have planned an NFL Youth Football and Cheerleading Day. The Governor’s Cup, which follows, is a charity football game in which all after expense proceeds goes to designate charities. One of the charities is the Dave Campo Foundation, which provides vision screening and eyeglasses for inner city youth. This day will take place at Rentschler Field, East Hartford on Thursday, June 29, 2006 beginning at 1:30 PM for the Youth Football clinic and 3:30 PM for the Cheerleading clinic.
For the cheerleaders the clinic will consist of events as learning chants and a high power dance along with presentations on nutrition, dedication and responsibility, and teamwork. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Jackonsville Jaguar Cheerleaders will head the clinic. A cost of a ticket for the All Star game (see below) then registration online is all that is needed.
Any cheerleader after purchasing a ticket (see below) must register online on May 1st to June 19th to participate. This information and how to register will be posted on www.cthssport.com by mid April. The registration will have a limit on the number of accepted for the clinic.
In addition to the clinic during the football game for the first time CT and RI will have All Star Cheerleaders performing during the game. The CT All Star Cheerleaders were chosen from the top 5 All State Senior Cheerleaders in the following divisions LL, L, M, and S in the state of CT.
